What To Do During Quarantine/Lock Down

Here we are, 21 days of National Lock down. It’s probably going to get extended. This is a extraordinary global event. How do we deal with being stuck at home during the National Lock down?

You need to have balance. Case and point. Me and my boyfriend stay together alone with our 2 adorable puppers.

There are a few things we do to keep sane, with this situation and with each other.

Here are my tips about keeping sane during this time with your family.

1. If you can work from home, stick to your schedule or what you had planned to do during the lock down.

We moved all our office stuff into our house, so we could work from home. We kept the work room separate from our gaming room.
This will help you keep your mind sharp and occupied during this stressful times. Additionally, you won’t get behind with work.

Luckily, both me and my beloved boyfriend can work remotely. I love my new hot co-worker.

2. Be creative.

We love bonding as a couple, and one of the main ways we do this is by either creating art or playing games. Currently, we are playing RLCraft.

This stimulates our minds and we have fun creating our own world. If you think RLCraft is for children, you are mistaken good sir or lady.

3. Eat healthy foods

Despite being in lock down, I still cook healthy low-GI food for me and my boyfriend with lots of veggies. This allows us to stay healthy and remain in shape. Cooking is also very therapeutic. Remember to stay hydrated, when we feel hungry generally we are just dehydrated or bored then we consume.

4. Read an emotionally or intellectual stimulating book

As mentioned this is an emotional time. Now, you can catch up on some reading. This will help you explore your imagination and find new spiritual balances.

5. Clean your house daily

A tidy house is a tidy mind. Plus, it burns tons of calories and keeps you busy. This will also decrease any possible frustrations with you loved ones. During times like these when we are forced to stay inside with even the ones we love the most, we need distractions. When your houses is tidy you feel less frustrated.

6. Exercise & stretch

It goes without saying, during these times we need extra serotonin and dopamine to keep us happy. Being in quarantine (if not sick) is no excuse to get unfit or worse to pick up weight. You are in control here, the secrete is to keep your mind busy and yourself occupied to keep yourself from overeating or over consuming calories.
You all know me, I love my yoga, it makes everything better, you have fun and burn fat doing it! The thing is, it takes practice to stay flexible.

7. Self-care

Now you can spend some much needed time on yourself. Paint your nails, pluck your eye brows, colour in a book, knit that winter blanket, put on a clay face mask, watch a movie and take that bubble bath with a glass of wine or gin, you deserve it.

8. Spend time with your family

Now is where relationships are made or broken. Make an effort to communicate efficiently, make each other happy, fill your house roles and work together as a team, and most importantly be loving with each other. Don’t take your external frustration out on your partner.
