If you’re just a yoga beginner or if you’ve been doing raw yoga and want to improve your form and flexibility, then this is the right place.
Yoga blocks enhances your form and yoga poses. On first glance, it’s hard to imagine that such a soft material and block can actually become one of your most used and secrete weapons.
I’ve attempted yoga without blocks or the strap, and I lost interest because I got stagnated, and saw little progress. The blocks and straps gave me new hope, I saw fast improvement with these props. And they are cheap. You just need to know where to buy.

To summarize Yoga blocks:
- Support range of motion, thereby shortening the distance between you and the floor (“bringing the floor closer to you”). This assists in practicing the correct form without injury. Also by placing your full weight – yes you read right, you decrease your chances of pushing yourself to far to fast.
- Assist in establishing correct alignment
- Help make yoga accessible to beginners and to those experiencing injury or other physical limitations. Moreover, it teaches your body to adapt to new uncomfortable poses. Let’s be honest yoga hurts, but it’s the good kind.
- Bring awareness to properly engage and support muscles in a specific pose
- It’s a great support structure, it can be placed at the low, medium and high positions to accommodate more or less support

Think of Yoga Straps as an extension of yourself when your in a really uncomfortable position, and your extension gives you some form of relief and hope. That’s how I generally feel about the strap. Again yoga hurts.
To Summarize Yoga bands are:
- Increase balance and firm muscles, the strap is used in upright poses.
- Muscles such as the Arms also benefit from this strap. A deep stretch is achieved by pulling it in opposite directions. Users should change their arms a number of times and hold poses for several seconds on every side.
- Challenging yoga poses are obtained by holding the straps and trying to stretch them longer.
- The straps help people reach the most difficult yoga levels, so these straps are thoroughly rewarding devices.
I love using my yoga strap not only on the mat, but when I watch TV I would do a seated forward bend and use the band to do frequent long stretches. I even got my boyfriend doing it now, it’s fun.
